MONSTERA PLANT

The Monstera (Monstera deliciosa), also known as the Swiss Cheese Plant, is a tropical beauty native to the rainforests of Central and South America. Its large, glossy leaves develop dramatic splits and holes as they mature, giving it a signature jungle-like appearance. Indoors, it can grow several feet tall, making it a stunning statement piece.

LIKES: Loves bright, indirect light but can adapt to lower light conditions. Prefers warmth and humidity, similar to its native tropical environment.

DISLIKES: Doesn’t appreciate prolonged direct sunlight, which can scorch its leaves. Also dislikes soggy soil—too much water can lead to root rot.

HEALTH BENEFITS: Helps improve indoor air quality by filtering toxins like formaldehyde and benzene. Also adds a lush, calming presence to any space.

WATERING AND FEEDING: Water when the top few inches of soil feel dry. It enjoys a good soak but doesn’t like standing water. Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer once a month during the growing season for optimal growth.

LIVING WITH PETS AND CHILDREN: Toxic if ingested, so keep it out of reach of curious pets and small children. Its sap can also cause mild skin irritation.
